Plugins

Please excuse my ignorance but what are “plugins” for this app? I have read what is posted on this site but Im still not clear on what they are or where you can download them. They seem to be like “addons” but I’m not really sure. I’m a paid user of this great app and have been wondering if there is an aspect of this program that I’m somehow missing? Any info anyone can provide would be appreciated.

Plugins could be created by third party developers to provide access to some web video resources.
However, I don’t know if any working plugins available right now.
